You’re probably here because you have an aching heart or are having a hard time due to a loss. It may have been caused by the death of a loved family member (or not-so-loved), or friend, or beloved pet.
You may feel a hole in your existence because the companion you had, and the opportunity to directly interact with them, is no longer available. Maybe your grief has been caused by divorce, job loss, estrangement, empty nest, changes in health or any number of other reasons. Intangible losses within your grief, such as the loss of safety, faith, and trust, are also painful.
You may be here because you feel, or have been told, that you need help with your grief or that something is wrong and needs to be fixed. But I believe grievers don’t need to be fixed. Grief is the normal and natural response to loss - all types of loss. You may have a broken heart, yet you are not broken. Whatever the cause and whenever the loss, I will walk with you through your grief.
Sharing memories and feelings you experience following a loss is vital in the healing process. I’m here to walk with you through your grief with the guidance of the Grief Recovery Method. Recovery from loss is accomplished through being in a safe environment and by making a series of steps. You’ll learn and experience the steps to help you feel better and to live without fear of being hurt again because you’ll know the steps to take.
The Grief Recovery Method, a guided step-by-step process, will help you begin to move through memories and feelings, shifting the painful burden from any type of loss.
Recovery is about experiencing memories without your mind wishing things were different. It’s about feeling secure, even when creating a new or updated version of your dreams and expectations for the future. It’s about feeling better and feeling free to fully engage in relationships again and having a willingness to move forward in all areas of life.
“After my wife passed away, I was lost. I was extremely depressed and terrified about a future raising our two teenaged children alone. Tanya was such a great help. Going through this program helped me tremendously. I’ve been able to move forward and be there for my children. I would definitely recommend working with Tanya to anyone struggling with the grief from a loss.”

Tanya Jenkins, Grief Recovery Specialist
I’m Tanya Jenkins, a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I’d like to explain why I see myself as “walking with” my client.
When my dad died in 2013, I was flooded with grief as memories came up. It wasn’t just sadness, it was a mix of confusing, painful emotions because of a tumultuous relationship with my dad.
Due to an earlier research project, I had an unopened copy of The Grief Recovery Handbook. My pain motivated me to open it and as I did, I made a clear commitment to follow its process as best I could with my grief-fogged brain. I told myself if it didn’t help, no big surprise - I’d move on to the next thing.
But it did help; it shifted my pain. It also gave me unexpected gifts: a new way to interact with any of my memories and an avenue to deepen my relationship to my dad, with myself and with others experiencing loss.
Grief was a tenderizer and the Grief Recovery Method is the path through to healing.

The Grief Recovery Method® is an educational, and a scientifically evidence-based proven program to be effective.
This One-on-One Program is six or seven sessions designed to guide you through a series of actions utilizing the materials spelled out in “The Grief Recovery Handbook - 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition” to help you let go of pain from a loss. In each session, I will help you learn, and experience, the action steps that guide you to recovery.
“The healing from this work is profound and exponential. There is still an ache for Maddie, my Maltipoo, BUT I can face it without fear and now I have tools to work through the tough moments. I am so grateful for you, Tanya, and for this process. I appreciate our sessions and miss your kindness and generosity. You create such an open, calm space.”
Happenings
We all know that loss happens. As adults, we intellectually understand that we will be mourners multiple times throughout our lives. Yet when those losses happen, it’s emotional, not intellectual. We feel it. No matter how much logic and brain power we use, we still feel the pain and sadness.

How To Help
When we hear the news about another person’s loss, we may not know what to say, or what can be done. We want to be helpful, yet we were never taught how to support another during grief.
I’m honored to have received this review from a colleague:
“I want to encourage anyone needing support around loss to work with Tanya Jenkins, Grief To Recovery. I have referred my own clients to Tanya for her help in processing grief, and I’ve received glowing feedback from participants in her program. The Grief Recovery Method is a great container for holding the work, and Tanya’s gentle and skillful facilitation have had a far-reaching and transformative impact on my clients.”
